COLOMBIA IN SHORT WORDS

Colombia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Either you travel alone or you travel within a group of people, you are going to have an amazing time in this country. Many people have said things about insecurity, but as you will find out, Colombia is a country with wonderful people and georgeous sightseeing.

BOGOTA - FIRST THING TO DO

Bogota is the most cosmopolitan city in Colombia. You'll find a lot of things to do and an extended stay will be very satisfactory. Keep in mind that the weather is a disaster, it rains constantly and the temperature is normally between 8 and 18 degrees, but if you overcome these obstacles, you'll have tons of activities to do. Once you get to Bogota, it is recommended first of all, get up to the viewpoint of "La Calera", where you can get the general concept of how big the city is. With binoculars, you'll find multiple sites, parks, the football stadium, shopping malls, and above all, you will get the feeling of the huge size of the city. I highly recommend "La Pinta" Hostel.

CARTAGENA - GENERAL OVERVIEW

Cartagena is the most beautiful city in Colombia. It is an architectural mixture of Spanish, African, Caribbean, and Colombian style. It is recommended to visit only the modern and the old city. The old city offers an unique beauty during the day and at night, which rarely can be found in the hole world. Several movies and television series have been recorded in this part of the city, given its unique and photogenic appearance. If you are doing backpacking, I recommend completely to reach the hostel "Media Luna", which feels like arriving at a hostel in the middle of the Greek islands.

MEDELLIN - 23º

Medellin is the city's of the most beautiful women of Colombia. As a dutch friend of mine told me once, "for every ten women five are amazing". In addition, this is the city of the famous drug dealer "Pablo Escobar" as well for the birthplace of the singer "Juanes". It is a compulsory destination in Colombia and the weather is the best in the country, about 23 º all year round. The only metro in the country.

I think you should write a hub about how safe it is to backpack in Colombia. I'd love to backpack in that part of the world but if it's not safe then I'd rather go somewhere else :)
